Posting (uploading) Photos, Screen shots or Videos?

Post  GarryP on Wed 25 May 2011, 6:40 pm

I can remember a few months ago that I was asked by a friend if it was possible to post/upload a photo or screen shot to the forums?

Well having had a little look around it looks like you cannot post or upload any photos, images or videos to the actual forums. The reason I quite obvious and that it the amount of bandwidth that such files would take up. Although members can upload a small photo/image for use only their personal members profile, that image will then be used as their avatar.

But there is a indirect method by which you can kind of post any image or video file.

Firstly you will need to register with one of the many FREE picture/video hosting sites (see below for a couple of examples), then when you have got an account with such a site, you can upload any pictures, screen shots or videos to the site you have chosen. Then when you have uploaded that file, the site will give a URL (link to picture/video). All you need to do is then post that link (using Copy & Paste) to your forum message, then hey presto users will be able to view your photo,, video or what ever.

Example sites:

Picture Hosting:

http://photobucket.com

http://www.flickr.com/

Video Hosting:

http://www.dailymotion.com

http://www.youtube.com
